Web Map Services
Current DND Real Property spatial information is available to geomatic techs in the CAF/DND by means of a web mapping services. DND/CAF geomatic techs will no longer need to rely on incomplete, out of date, or poorly sourced real property information for their mapping needs.
Geomatic techs can extract data using an RPSDW service over a DWAN connection.
In ArcMap
- In the ArcCatalog window click “Add ArcGIS Server” under the “GIS Servers” heading.
- Select “Use GIS Services”
- Click “Next”
- In the Server URL type: https://admie-smaie.ottawa-hull.mil.ca/arcgis
- Click “Finish”
- Click “Yes” to all pop-ups
- A new GIS Server will be added in Arc Catalog
- Navigate to : External => CoreData
- Drag and drop the CoreData Feature Service entry onto the ArcMap Layers tree. The Feature Service icon has a small gray square in the bottom corner.
- Right click on any layer and choose Data => Export Data. To export your layer to a local .shp file
