Spatial Data Collection Support
Spatial data collection is a challenge for DND establishments with few trained staff who have the expertise, equipment, and time to perform data collection. To meet this challenge, ADM(IE) Real Property Spatial group has initiated standing offer agreements with Defence Construction Canada for collection of standardized spatial data. The intention of these standing offer agreements is to reconcile spatial data gaps without burdening local staff to collect data or organize contracts. Data collection contracts have been established to support four areas of interest.
NRE1901 Integrated survey control and topographic survey
Creates contracted survey capability to establish integrated survey control networks and to conduct topographic survey collection. An Integrated survey control network is a prerequisite for spatial data collection since it establishes durable recorded reference points for data collection activities over time.
NRE1902 Utilities Data Acquisition and Condition Assessments
These contracts will validate and acquire spatial information about DND owned utilities (water, storm, sanitary, heating, and electrical linear assets). Data collection is done in a staged process involving identification of existing data and gap analysis, field data collection, and condition assessment. Data is delivered in a standardized data schema.
NRE1903 Building Data Acquisition
This contract capability enables building interior LiDAR scan to produce point clouds and standardized building information.
NRE1904 Vehicle based panoramic imagery and LiDAR scan.
This contract enables the collection of street level mass data reality capture of the DND built environment. The Cyclomedia format data is available by means of a web browser and can also be consumed by engineering tools. .
