Web Map Services
DND personnel have access to a variety of map services which make maps, features, and attribute data available inside many types of client applications. A Web Map Service (WMS) defines the interface that allows a client, via a web map browser, to get maps of geospatial data and gain detailed information on specific features shown on the map. One common use of a map service is to show business data on top of basemap tiles from ArcGIS Online, Bing Maps, or Google Maps.
